Extended warranties on electronics…

Currently I am going through an ordeal with PC Richard & Sons where I purchased a laptop just about 2 yrs ago and as of Dec 26th 2008 I decided to bring it in for service to fix the wireless on it and replace the motherboard to allow it to run better. I was told to wait just about 2 weeks to comeback and pick it up which I did. Happy to have my wireless finally working I was ecstatic with joy. I ran the normal processes to update my laptop as well as reinstall norton on the laptop and what ends up happening about 15 mins of having it on it shuts down. I turn it back on and bam it shuts off again this time within seconds of powerup. I figured it was something having to do with the bios so I took it back to be serviced again, explained the situation and was also told that I would be able to request a replacement after one more service visit. This time I wait about a week and I get it back. Everything runs pretty good at first until once again 15mins in and once again installing the important things needed to allow my laptop to run smooth and WHAM!!! It shuts down again once again doing the same as before. So enough was enough I took another day to go back to The PC Richards & Sons location on Fordham Rd. As I entered the rep who had assisted me the third time I was there wanted to know if everything was ok. I explained it was doing the same problem and was told by her to speak to the manager to find out about getting my replacement. After about 15 – 20 mins of waiting the manager finally comes to speak with me and his solution….. drumroll…. contact customer service. I head home frustrated and do as I was instructed. I contact the “CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE” and what happens I get transferred in the middle of my complaint about the service department to the same service department I am trying to complain about. I speak to one of their reps and she informs me that I need to have the laptop sent back in again for service. So now for a fifth time I go to do so. I speak to a rep there explain my situation about this being my fourth time and me wanting a replacement. He goes and hides briefly in the back not realizing I am paying attention to the fact that he is speaking to a manager who I guess instructs him to have me go to the original store I purchased the laptop from and have the original salesperson who may not even still work there help me get a new laptop. I explain to him what is the sense in doing that if my warranty says PC Richards & Sons not PC Richards & Sons store # whatever in Bay Plaza, Bronx. His response is that it is what he recommends I do because the person their will help me more in getting a replacement instead of any salesperson or manager from any store is willing to help me. Wonderful service and yet I still have to wait another day to contact the Service Department and speak to them in person to explain what is going on with my laptop since their tech isnt competent enough to properly test it before returning it back

Its 12:40am and about 350 channels on cable…

and yet there is still nothing to watch on tv at this time of the morning. Why do cable companies do this to us? If the current trend of seeing more straphangers on the subway at this time of night and also more and more people finding jobs that end at around this time yet there is nothing to entertain them when they get home. We all enjoy the necessary wind down in order to fall asleep but why must we endure aimless infomercials and rediculous true stories about people we could care less about…

Reality TV shows…

Many a Celebrity or would be Celebrity have turned to the Television medium known as Reality TV to either boost their status or gain 15 mins of celebrity status. Ah! Yes we all find ourselves being able to comment on our guilty pleasures such as who is our favorite Rock of Love girl or Flava of Love Contestant, or even the hot for the moment A Shot of Love. The contestants that you sort of connect with and find a sort of hoping that your choice will be the one who wins it all. Yet when is too much Reality TV enough. You have more and more shows popping up casting your girls who all at some point end up sleeping with the man or woman in the spotlight on the show and you get the guys stereotypical of where they are from like your typical  “Im Jersey” guys. When will America learn to stop encouraging this type of tv show and start putting on TV that matters? Im not saying we should do away with it all but why not say hey there is already 3 other shows on this season lets wait till those seasons are over and then start our newest venture, come on Corporate Media America, we want to encourage the youth to leave the couch not kill their brain cells on it. We dont want to make young girls aspire to be slores and young guys looking to be rewarded for being douche bags. No we have enough of those type of people already.

The Purpose of Wearing pants that fit or fitted jeans as they are known…

So a recent phenomenon that my friends and I have noticed is the sudden need for individuals to purchase fitted or skinny jeans for the purpose of wearing them below their butts. Correct me if I am wrong but I thought the purpose of fashion gearing more towards fitted clothing meant actually wearing them correctly. Unfortunately the belt has become the new kneetie to keep jeans fitted to the knees instead of the waist. Due to the large number of people doing this it leads to a shortage of being able to find jeans in my correct waist size because other people purchase their jeans according to their knee space. Don’t think I forgot about women unfortunately ladies who cannot appreciate their figure tend to purchase jeans smaller than what their waist size in thus leaving women with smaller waist and curves without jeans that fit them properly. Why I ask? WHY!?

A new start….
